404 – Web Page Not Found

I woke out of a deep sleep to look at the clock to see how much longer I had to sleep.
     “4:04”, the clock said.
“404”, I said, “Web Page Not Found. My clock must not be able to find the Atomic Clock Web Page. Now how will I know what time it is, how will I know how much longer I have to sleep? All my clocks are digital and link to the internet for the current time, even my watch. I could go wake a neighbor and ask them, but that would mean getting dressed, and besides, they all have digital clocks.”
I was angry with the owners of the Atomic Clock Web Page for not having a backup or mirror-site. I was angry with myself for throwing away my battery powered analog clock because it had an annoying tick-tick-tick; and now I had no backup clock.
How could I go to sleep now, not knowing the time? And, what about the people in Japan? It’s the middle of the day over there. This will just interrupt their entire work day!
     “4:05”, the clock said.
“405? What kind of Internet Error Code is that? 4:05? Oh, duh 4:05. Go back to sleep,” I said to myself. “And stop spending so much time on the Internet!”
